ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Data centre investment has gained momentum across Asia, driven by growing demand for digital infrastructure and increasing investment from technology companies, investors and infrastructure developers. As the sector continues to evolve, capital market professionals are required to keep abreast of market developments, project considerations, financing structures and credit considerations that influence investment and financing decisions.
This programme offers practical insights into the data centre sector from market, project and financing perspectives. Participants will examine regional market developments and growth drivers, together with key considerations in the planning, development and operation of data centre projects. The programme further covers global data centre financing structures, key trends and challenges across regional and mature markets, credit considerations and trends in rated issuances and financing structures, including expectations for APAC’s and Malaysia’s data centre financing.

SPEAKER
Christophe Vicic, Chief Growth Officer, JLL (Malaysia)
Christophe has over 40 years of professional experience, with more than 17 years specializing in real estate. His career spans multiple continents including Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, Pakistan, the Middle East, and Africa, providing him with extensive multi-cultural business expertise.
He currently serves as Chief Growth Officer Malaysia for JLL Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur. In this capacity, he leads development strategy and captures new investment opportunities throughout the region and Malaysia. His previous JLL leadership roles include Country Head for JLL Philippines from 2017 to 2021, and a seven-year tenure with JLL Russia & CIS based in Moscow from 2009 to 2016.
Before joining JLL, Christophe held several senior international positions. As International Director Europe for SIRVA Relocation, he managed operations across Europe, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe. During his six years with Millicom International Cellular SA (now Tigo), he served first as COO in Pakistan before advancing to CEO for Africa, Russia/CIS, and the Middle East region in 1998. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years as Managing Director for DHL Worldwide, overseeing companies in West Africa, Poland, Russia, and CIS.
James Rix, Head of Data Centres Practice. Project & Development Services, SEA and Korea
James has been working on data centres projects since 2007, starting his career in Singapore. He has over 40 years of experience in project management in a wide variety of asset classes and critical infrastructure. He has programme manages the delivery of many data centre projects throughout EMEA and APAC. These have ranged from smaller facilities <1MW to hyperscale campus facilities in excess of 240 MW IT Power draw.
James has a collaborative and informal working style, which enables him to successfully gel diverse and international teams to produce exceptional results. He is an accredited Sustainability Advisor.
He is a multi-award-winning subject matter expert in data centres and is a regular speaker at international conferences.
Yijing Ng, Director, Corporate Ratings, S&P Global
Yijing Ng is a Director with S&P Global Ratings Corporate Ratings team based in Singapore. She is the lead analyst for the team that covers corporate ratings in sectors including aviation, consumer, real estate, digital infrastructure and telecommunications in the South and Southeast Asia region. The team is also responsible for ratings on conglomerates and investment holding companies. Particularly for the data center asset class, Yijing is involved across the corporate and project finance rating approaches and financing structures.
Prior to joining S&P in 2019, Yijing was a corporate credit risk analyst with Mizuho Bank for about five years. She covered corporates mainly in Southeast Asia, with primary focus on the telecommunications, technology and pharmaceutical sectors. She started off her career as an auditor with PwC LLP. Yijing is a Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute and a Chartered Accountant from ISCA. She holds a degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
